As compared
to
Malaysia , Germany football system are almost free of political
interference from any party . Their system are run in an efficient
manner in which players are selected from as early as 5 years old and
are partnered with the same teammates until they are 16 or 17 . Then ,
they will be absorbed into profesional clubs like Bayern Munich to let
them get exposure to football at its highest level . As a result , their
team are getting younger player who are more mature , experienced
enough to take on the best team in the world .
Question is , are we doing the same thing ? In my opinion , its a no . Football in Malaysia are runned like secret societies , in which the authority power are in the hands of someone powerful . Meritocracy is not being practised at its best . In both state team and national team , only players from certain race , creed are mostly chosen . Some of them are lousy and incompetent . With Germany , you have Turkish Mehsud Ozil , Tunisian Sami Khedira , Spanish Mario Gomez which are chosen for their talent and not for their roots .
In conclusion , I wish the authorities can learn something from the Germans . They need some reorganisation . Eliminate the bad apples . Hire someone like K. Rajagobal , Shebby Singh to be in charge of football . Massive investment in football infrastructure is badly needed besides revision of current youth football system so that Malaysian can finally have a team which can compete with Asian powerhouse like Japan , Korea , etc . All this process will take at least 10 to 15 years . But as the saying goes , WHEN THERE'S A WILL , THERE'S A WAY .
